Master Programme Cooperation

A wide cooperation between Bangladesh and Norway in higher education is now taking place under Norad`s Master Programme (NOMA). A delegation from Oslo University College visited Dhaka 17 to 21 February 2008 in order to sign an agreement with University of Dhaka for a Master Programme in Journalism, Media and Communication.

20/02/2008 :: The NOMA teams met Ambassador Ingebjørg Støfring  to share plans and experiences in this regard. The Norwegian team was headed by Prof. Dr. Thore Roksvold. The Dhaka University delegation was led by Vice Chancellor Professor F. M. A. Faiz. The cooperation will be will be carried out in collaboration with the relevant institutions in Nepal and Pakistan.

Ambassador Støfring also had the pleasure of meeting representatives from the health cooperation within the NOMA programme recently.

"It is very interesting for the Embassy to follow this cooperation between Bangladesh and Norway," says Ambassador Ingebjørg Støfring. "The NOMA programmes are especially aimed at enhancing  institutional development in the South and regional cooperation."

At present, existing NOMA cooperation between Bangladesh and Norway is within the fields of journalism, health, oil and energy, and public administration.

Professor Azad Khan from Dhaka and Professor Akhtar Hussain, Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo, recently briefed Ambassador Støfring on health cooperation in the NOMA programme.
