In November 2008, the Norwegian Embassy visited three partner organisations of Manusher Jonno Foundation in Chittagong, namely FULKI, Bangladesh Society for the Enforcement of Human Rights (BSEHR) and Centre for Development Services (CDS).

24/11/2008 :: Norway is supporting Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) with 10 million NOK yearly for three years (2006-2009). The foundation makes grants available to a range of organisations working with human rights and good governance.

The Embassy staff observed the ongoing activities in three partner organisations. The aim of FULKI is to create lively, enjoyable and creative schools by including cultural activities. This will contribute to improve the quality of primary and secondary education.

Bangladesh Society for the Enforcement of Human Rights (BSEHR) is working with promotion and protection of human rights by providing legal aid, investigation and fact finding, legal literacy etc. Their beneficiaries are mainly poor, disadvantaged and vulnerable groups.

The goal of the Centre for Development Services (CDS) is to create opportunities for the low income population. Their MJF project is to enhance social security and protection of the Sex Workers.
