”C for Courage” - Norwegian world touring exhibition on children’s rights, was inaugurated at Central Kachi Kanchar Mela by Ambassador Aud Lise Norheim in Dhaka on 18 March 2005
11/03/2008 :: The inauguration was a successful and colourful event. UNICEF representative in Bangladesh, Mr. Morten Giersing, the Norwegian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ms. Aud Lise Norheim, and the Director of Central Kachi Kanchar Mela, Mr. Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled, all contributed at the opening. Some children members of the host organisation performed, and passports and information brochures were handed out to the children, who enjoyed exploring this innovative exhibition. A number of journalists were also present.
“C for Courage” is an exhibition that offers a number of activities making the participating children learn and wonder about their rights as stipulated in United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of the Child, which says that every child in the world should have the same opportunity to live and to grow.
The exhibition has been developed by the Norwegian Children’s Museum as one of several cultural events initiated by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to celebrate Norway’s 100 years of independence in 2005.
The head office of Kachi Kanchar Mela, one of Bangladesh’ most famous children’s organisations, is hosting the exhibition on their premises in 37/A, Segun Bagicha, Dhaka, from 18 March to 1 April, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
