The Ambassador was accompanied by CEO of Telenor Jon Fredrik Baksaas and the long term commitment by the Norwegian company Telenor to the development of Bangladesh was highlighted. Sheikh Hasina reassured her visitors that the license renewal process and the issues arising from the BTRC- initiated audit will be kept separate.
-Telenor can be instrumental in supporting the Bangladeshi government’s efforts to alleviate poverty and empower people through reliable and low-cost mobile internet access as well as playing an important role in the realization of Digital Bangladesh,said Ambassador Lund.
The recent conference Energy for all: Access for the poor in Oslo and the launching of the International Energy and Climate Initative Energy+, the Nansen Conference on Climate Change and Displacement and women entrepeneurship in connection with the NCCI event Women for Business/Business for Women were also amongst the subjects discussed at the meeting.
