The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) and Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI), Norway jointly signed a contract with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 23 June 2010 at CPD to conduct a collaborative research focusing on Inclusive Growth and Good Governance.

The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Dhaka and Manushur Jonno Foundation (MJF) recently signed a contract for supporting human rights and good governance activities in Bangladesh. MJF will receive 60 million NOK (approximately 63 crore Taka) over a period of three years. The purpose of the cooperation contract is that the poor and vulnerable people, particularly women and children have access to measurable better quality services and enjoy improved security.

On June 2nd 2010 Norway signed the Bangladesh Joint Cooperation Strategy with the Government of Bangladesh (GOB) and 17 other Development Partners (DPs); Asian Development Bank, Australia, Canada, Denmark, European Union, Germany, Islamic Development Bank, Japan, Republic of Korea, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United Nations, United States and World Bank.

Although there are those who have warned that increased activity and unresolved boundaries in the Arctic would raise tensions, developments in the region are bearing witness to just the opposite.

On a fieldtrip to Bogra and Rajshahi, a delegation from the Norwegian embassy in Dhaka; Ambassador Ingebjørg Støfring, senior advisor Arup K. Biswas and trainee Maren G. Fallet visited several small enterprises that has received loans from the former Norwegian-supported RAKUB-SECP program for starting new or expanding already existing enterprises. Many small enterprises have been successful, and this has positive influence on the community as is has created many job opportunities.

Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) General Secretary Atle Sommerfeldt and Bishop Halvor Nordhaug visited Bangladesh and NCA partners March 1-6th 2010. NCA is a Norwegian NGO working to promote basic human rights rights, irrespective of gender, political conviction and ethnic origin. NCA cooperates with organizations in a large number of countries.
