The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Dhaka and Manushur Jonno Foundation (MJF) recently signed a contract for supporting human rights and good governance activities in Bangladesh. MJF will receive 60 million NOK (approximately 63 crore Taka) over a period of three years. The purpose of the cooperation contract is that the poor and vulnerable people, particularly women and children have access to measurable better quality services and enjoy improved security.

On a fieldtrip to Bogra and Rajshahi, a delegation from the Norwegian embassy in Dhaka; Ambassador Ingebjørg Støfring, senior advisor Arup K. Biswas and trainee Maren G. Fallet visited several small enterprises that has received loans from the former Norwegian-supported RAKUB-SECP program for starting new or expanding already existing enterprises. Many small enterprises have been successful, and this has positive influence on the community as is has created many job opportunities.

Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) General Secretary Atle Sommerfeldt and Bishop Halvor Nordhaug visited Bangladesh and NCA partners March 1-6th 2010.
