“Last year we launched a Business Matchmaking programme at the Norwegian Embassy in Dhaka. The purpose of the programme is to encourage long term partnerships between Norwegian and Bangladeshi companies. We believe there is strong potential for cooperation in the agriculture sector and are hopeful that this delegation will lied to fruitful partnerships” says Norwegian Ambassador Ms. Ragne Birte Lund.
The objective of the May 2011-delegation is to introduce Danish and Norwegian companies to relevant local companies in order to explore possibilities for setting up long-term cooperation/joint venture where Danish/Norwegian know-how and investments will be combined with local knowledge and manpower skills.
The Danish Embassy in Dhaka has long experience with business delegation in Dhaka, but this delegation marks the first time Innovation Norway's Business Matchmaking Programme and Norwegian companies will be attending.
“We are very proud to be able to bring in this delegation of Danish and Norwegian companies to Bangladesh. The Embassy of Denmark has been active in Bangladeshi agriculture since the very beginning in 1971, and we are very proud to invite Danish and Norwegian companies to see the progress Bangladesh has made in this area. Hopefully, this delegation will result in many new business partnerships, which will further strengthen the relationship between our countries” says the Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh, Mr. Svend Olling.
The Embassies are planning for pre-fixed meetings for the Danish and Norwegian companies and hence looking for potential relevant Bangladeshi companies.
